On Demand Video Servers, or ODVS, has proven the hottest digital media infrastructure topic over the past 18 months. Emerging content distribution architectures, such as network-based digital video recording and time-shifted TV, fuel significantly greater network demands and challenges in areas such as scalability, reliability, on demand functionality, advanced advertising methods and improved energy efficiency metrics. Burgeoning consumer and business demand for content delivered in high definition and on demand will continue to drive service provider requirements for managing the storage, streaming and operational costs attached to offering and scaling personalized content experiences on an “Any Content, Anytime, Anywhere” basis.

In 2009-10, the ODVS market will witness dynamic competitive shifts as ODVS technology evolves rapidly to support the expanding array of network requirements dedicated to ODVS platforms and as the range of ODVS implementation options expands. This emerging market reality will raise the competitive stakes among ODVS vendors as they compete more intensely to fulfill evolving and demanding customer demands for new and improved ODVS capabilities.

Delivered via our web-based platform CurrentCOMPETE™, the Current Analysis On Demand Video Server Product Assessments provide an important perspective and true view of this quickly evolving market. The Product Assessments offer detailed analysis of the key offerings in the space and Current Analysis’ online platform allows users to create side-by-side comparisons of any of the offerings.
